Bhubaneswar, Jan. 10 -- In a move aimed at protecting child rights and checking prolonged absenteeism in schools, the Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE), Odisha, has issued a directive instructing school authorities to conduct home visits for students remaining absent for seven days or more.

As per an official notification issued by the DEE on January 8, 2026, all District Education Officers (DEOs) and Block Education Officers (BEOs) have been advised to ensure that schools take immediate steps in this regard.
