Bhubaneswar, Dec. 22 -- Acclaimed Odia poet and writer Gayatribala Panda has been chosen to be conferred with the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award 2022 for her poem compilation 'Dayanadi'.

An engraved copper-plaque, a shawl and an amount of Rs 1,00,000 will be presented to Gayatribala at the award presentation function which will be held on a later date.

The awards were announced for 23 languages including seven poetry collections, six novels, two story collections, two literary criticisms, three plays and one autobiography.

The award in Bengali language would be announced after a few days due to technical reasons.
