Bhubaneswar, Feb. 18 -- Bhubaneswar: Despite an estimated drop in State's share in Central taxes, Odisha on Tuesday presented a budget of Rs 1.50 lakh crore for the financial year 2020-21 as compared Rs 1.35 lakh crore for the year 2019-20.

While presenting the first paperless budget in Odisha Assembly, State Finance minister Niranjan Pujari informed that Odisha's total revenue has grown from about 12.3% to 20.1% of GSDP between 1999-2000 and 2018-19.

This growth has been attributed to an increase in total size of public spending from about 16% to 23% of GSDP. As per the Revised Estimates for 2019-20, there will be a revenue surplus of Rs.6,175 crore and the fiscal deficit is estimated to be at 3.4% of GSDP which is within permissible F...
