Bhubaneswar, Oct. 10 -- In a move underscoring accountability within the police force, Sub-Inspector Karthik Jena of Gramanchal Police Station has been suspended by Bhadrak SP for negligence and dereliction of duty.

The suspension follows revelations that SI Jena failed to personally carry out an ongoing investigation in Rasikabad village. Instead, he allegedly sent a youth, identified as Piyush Ranjan Panda, on a police bike to carry out the official duties, with Panda even identifying himself as the SI.
