The Odisha Police has imposed a complete ban on the collection of 'illegal' chanda (donations) during the upcoming festive season, warning that strict action will be taken against violators.
Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania issued the directive to all district Superintendents of Police (SPs) after a high-level review meeting at the State Police Headquarters on Friday.
