An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Odisha Police was caught red-handed by Odisha Vigilance on Saturday while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000 from a complainant for releasing a motorcycle.
The accused has been identified as Hrushikesh Biswal, ASI of Police at Anantapur Outpost under Soro Police Station in Balasore district.
According to Vigilance sources, Biswal had detained a complainant's motorcycle in connection with a road accident on September 7. Since then, the complainant has been requesting the release of his vehicle.
