Bhubaneswar, Dec. 9 -- The Odisha Legislative Assembly is scheduled to take up a government Bill today proposing increases in salary, allowances and pension for sitting and former legislators.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mukesh Mahaling is listed to introduce the legislation during the day's proceedings, according to information placed before the House.

Sources reported that the proposal sets out higher financial entitlements for MLAs, Ministers, the Speaker, the Deputy Speaker and former legislators.
