Bhubaneswar, Nov. 5 -- An eight-year-old girl from Odisha's Gajapati district, who was living with her family in Bengaluru, was allegedly murdered in their rented house in the Silicon Valley of India.

The victim, a native of Kutiguda village under Mohana police limits, was reportedly strangled to death by an unidentified miscreant while her parents were away for work.

According to reports, the girl's father, Ismail Majhi, and his wife had migrated to Bengaluru to work as daily wage labourers. On the fateful day, both parents had gone out for work, leaving their daughter alone at home.
