Bhubaneswar, Oct. 13 -- The political storm over the alleged gangrape of an Odia medical student in Durgapur deepened on Monday, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accusing West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of 'misleading the public' by distorting facts about the incident.
BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya took to X with 'proofs' that Banerjee falsified details regarding the survivor's movements on the night of the crime.
Malviya claimed that while Banerjee told the media the survivor had left her medical campus around 12:30 am, official records from IQ City Medical College and Hospital show that the second-year MBBS student had exited the campus around 8 pm.
