Bhubaneswar, Jan. 12 -- Odisha on Monday observed the 150th anniversary of the iconic patriotic song Vande Mataram with a mass rendition across educational institutions throughout the state. At exactly 11 am, students, teachers, and staff of schools, colleges, and universities collectively sang the song as part of the commemorative programme.

The statewide event was organised in accordance with directions issued by the Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department. Official instructions had been circulated to all district collectors to ensure the programme was conducted simultaneously and in an orderly manner across Odisha.
