Bhubaneswar, Dec. 29 -- The Odisha government on Sunday announced an increase in the monthly allowance provided to traditional artists under the Mukhyamantri Kalakar Sahayata Yojana, a decision that will benefit 47,704 artists across the state.
The announcement was made by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi while addressing the 48th State-level Pala Sammilani at Park Lane in Keonjhar.
Under the revised structure, artists aged between 40 and 80 years will now receive a monthly assistance of Rs 3,000, up from the existing Rs 2,000. For artists above the age of 80 years, the monthly allowance has been increased from Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,500. The enhanced assistance will be applicable to all eligible beneficiaries enrolled under the scheme.
