The Odisha government is all set to carry out a large-scale restructuring of revenue village boundaries, with 1,635 new revenue villages to be notified soon. The Revenue and Disaster Management Department has issued a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to ensure that the new village boundaries are clearly demarcated and do not overlap with old ones.
As per the SOP, district collectors, RDCs, and the Director of Land Records and Survey have been directed to expedite the preparation of updated village maps and land records. Each of the newly created revenue villages will have separate land records, plot numbers, and village accounts...
