In a bid to curb the rising menace of drug and narcotic abuse among the youth, the Odisha Higher Education Department has issued a directive to all government and non-government aided colleges to launch extensive awareness programmes for drug-free campuses.

In an official communication dated July 23, 2025, Deputy Secretary to the Government, Dr. Ramesh Chandra Behera, has urged educational institutions to take proactive steps in creating a safe and healthy learning environment.
