Bhubaneswar, Dec. 23 -- The Odisha government on Friday issued an order to initiate the process to fill up 4,790 constable posts in Odisha Police.

As per a release from the Chief Minister's Office, Naveen Patnaik has given his approval to fill up these posts in four stages. He has also directed to begin the official process to fill these vacancies soon.

The selected constables will be appointed in the 34 'police districts' and the Commissionerate Police in the State.

The process is expected to help fill up vacancies of constables in various police stations and districts of the State and enhance the capacity of the existing police force in maintaining law and order.
