India, March 12 -- Following extensive electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC) verification, a staggering 84,757 persons were found to be ineligible for ration cards, Odisha Food Supplies Minister Krushna Chandra Patra said in the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.
Odisha government has taken decisive steps to identify and remove ineligible beneficiaries from its ration card distribution list. As a result, 22,293 ration cards have been withdrawn so far, making these beneficiaries ineligible for future ration supplies.
