Bhubaneswar, Jan. 21 -- The Odisha government on Tuesday approved a whopping Rs 91 crore for the redevelopment of the Koraput bus stand into a state-of-the-art bus terminal, marking a major boost to transport infrastructure in the district.

According to official sources, the new facility will be developed on the model of the Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Baramunda Bus Terminal in Bhubaneswar. Construction work is expected to commence once all required procedural formalities are completed.

The existing Koraput bus stand, constructed over three decades ago, has fallen into a poor state due to prolonged wear and tear. To avoid potential mishaps, authorities have decided to demolish the ageing structure.
