In a remarkable display of duty and humanity, a doctor in Odisha's flood-hit Kendrapada district walked through waist-deep water to rescue a pregnant woman in labour.
The incident took place in Chakibanka village under Rajnagar block, which remains submerged due to rising water levels of the Brahmani River. Continuous flooding has cut off road connectivity to several low-lying villages, leaving hundreds stranded and emergency services unable to reach them.
