Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday arrested Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Nityananda Nayak, OFS-I, posted at Kendu Leaf Division, Keonjhar, for possession of disproportionate assets (DA) beyond his known sources of income. The arrest followed two days of extensive raids at seven locations across Keonjhar and Angul.
The anti-corruption agency teams uncovered a slew of unaccounted assets, including a sprawling 9,000 square feet multi-storey building in Angul, a lavish farmhouse spread across 1.5 acres in Chhendipada with multiple structures, a Rs 30 lakh excavated pond, plantations, two bore wells, a well, and an outhouse.
