Bhubaneswar, Oct. 14 -- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday personally spoke to the Odia medical student who was allegedly gang-raped in West Bengal's Durgapur, assuring her and her family that the State government stands firmly with them and will ensure justice is served without delay.

According to sources, CM Majhi held a detailed phone conversation with the survivor, her mother, and Odisha State Commission for Women Chairperson Shobhana Mohanty, who was present in Durgapur.

During the call, the Chief Minister conveyed his prayers for the student's recovery and reaffirmed that her education, health, and safety would be fully taken care of by the Odisha government.
