In a major step towards recognising the contributions of frontline personnel, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday approved an increment in the daily duty call-up allowance for Home Guards across the state.

As per the decision, the allowance has been raised from Rs 612 to Rs 623, effective retrospectively from January 1, 2025.

Announcing the move, the Chief Minister emphasized the state's commitment to improving the working conditions and welfare of those who support law enforcement and emergency services.
