In a decisive push towards sustainable mobility, the Odisha government has unveiled the draft Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy 2025, setting ambitious targets to phase out fossil fuel-based vehicles from government operations and accelerate EV adoption across the state.

Under the roadmap, all government offices will replace their existing fleet with EVs within six months. School and college buses will be encouraged to follow suit within a year, while garbage and waste collection vehicles under the Housing and Urban Development department will also go electric in the same timeframe.
