Sagarika Nath, a 2016-batch IPS officer of the Odisha cadre, has been appointed as Superintendent of Police (SP) in the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on a deputation basis.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has written a letter to the Chief Secretary of the Odisha government in this regard, requesting her immediate relieving to take up the central deputation.
Currently serving as the SP of Khordha district, Nath's transition to the central agency is expected to bolster NIA's operational strength.
