The Central government has initiated a probe against an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from Odisha, who is accused of obtaining his position through a fraudulent certificate claiming his economically disadvantaged status, sources said on Friday.

The Union Ministry concerned has called upon Odisha Chief Secretary to conduct a detailed investigation into the officer's income and asset declarations.
