A low-pressure area is likely to form over the west-central Bay of Bengal and the adjoining northwest Bay on Tuesday, according to a forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The weather system is expected to intensify further over the next 48 hours, bringing significant rainfall to various parts of Odisha.
The IMD has predicted that under the influence of the system, Odisha is likely to experience widespread and intense rainfall till May 30. Notably, this rainfall will not only bring relief from the prevailing heat but also accelerate the onset of the southwest monsoon.
