Odisha State Highways Authority aims to build 6,500 km of state highways and expressways during the 2025-26 fiscal year, informed Works Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan on Thursday.

As part of the upcoming developments, the first-ever expressway in Odisha - stretching between Berhampur and Jeypore - will be constructed. Harichandan emphasised that this key corridor will not only improve transport but also fuel economic activity in South Odisha.

Addressing the media in Cuttack, Minister Harichandan said these projects will be named after eminent personalities hailing from their respective districts.
