Bhubaneswar, March 1 -- Bhubaneswar: Retired IPS officer Satyajit Mohanty assumed charge as the new chairman of the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) on Monday.

Mohanty was serving as the Director General of Fire Services, Odisha prior to his voluntary retirement from the service. The IPS officer of 1988 batch was given a farewell by Odisha Fire Service in Cuttack on Sunday.

He will hold the post of OPSC chairman till he attains the age of 62, said a notification of the General Administration and Public Grievance Department.
