Bhubaneswar, Jan. 29 -- The mortal remains of Indian Army jawan Jitu Behera reached his native village Anandapalli in Odisha's Nayagarh district, where he was laid to rest amid official protocols on Wednesday night.

Behera, who was posted in the Kashmir valley, died after suffering a cardiac arrest while on duty. He was accorded a final farewell as family members, villagers and local officials gathered to pay their last respects.

As per reports, Jitu Behera was serving with the Indian Army in the Kashmir valley when he suffered a sudden cardiac arrest during duty hours, leading to his death.
