Bhubaneswar, Jan. 6 -- Renowned Odia Jatra actor Piyush Tripathy returned to the Jatra stage after a hiatus of nearly six months, receiving an enthusiastic response from the audience. He marked his comeback with the play Tu Mo Bajrangi, staged by Jatra Singha Bahini at Chandikhole in Odisha's Jajpur district.

Popularly known as Jollywood's 'bad boy' for his powerful on-stage persona, Piyush made a striking entry during the performance, triggering excitement and applause from Jatra enthusiasts. His return to the pandal comes after a prolonged absence from the Jatra circuit following a controversy involving the acceptance of money from two organisers, which had kept him away from live performances.
