Bhubaneswar, Jan. 14 -- In a move reinforcing Odisha's commitment to promoting Odia as the primary language of administration, the state government on Wednesday has directed that all official work in government offices must be carried out exclusively in the Odia language. The General Administration Department has issued a formal notification making it mandatory for offices at all levels, from block and district offices to state-level departments, to conduct official business in Odia.
According to the directive, all notices, notifications, official correspondence, and related communications issued from government offices must be drafted in Odia. The order applies uniformly to all departments, departmental headquarters, district collectors...
