The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued an important notice for students and their parents regarding violation of the existing Act by 'University of Colombo'.
In a notice, the UGC has made it clear that no University in the name of University of Colombo exists in India in the list of UGC recognized Universities.
Hence, the University of Colombo is not authorized to offer any UG/PG/doctoral degree Programme in India as mentioned in the enclosed advertisement through regular, distance, online mode under the nomenclature Bachelor, Master, Honorary Doctorate which are specified degrees under section 22 of UGC Act, 1956.
