Bhubaneswar, Dec. 26 -- With the New Year drawing close, the Odisha Police have stepped up preparations to ensure a safe, peaceful and well-organised observance of New Year 2026 in Puri. The DIG, Central Range (CR) conducted a detailed review meeting with senior police officers of Puri district to assess and fine-tune security arrangements for December 31, 2025 and January 1, 2026.

The review focused on comprehensive security, traffic management, crowd control and emergency preparedness, with special emphasis on Puri town, the Shree Jagannath Temple and the sea beach areas.
