India's toy sector, once reliant on imports, has undergone a major transformation by shifting towards domestic production and exporting to 153 nations worldwide. Speaking at the 16th Toy Biz International B2B Expo 2025 in New Delhi, Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, credited this turnaround to sustained government support, the imposition of strict quality norms, and the growth of indigenous manufacturing hubs. He emphasized that the Quality Control Order (QCO) has played a vital role in building a culture of quality within the country, empowering Indian toy makers to compete on a global stage.
