The Odisha Government is preparing to introduce a new excise policy within this month. Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan confirmed that discussions with Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will be held in the next two days. Preparations for the new framework are already underway.
A delegation from the state has recently visited two other states to study their excise models. Based on their findings, Odisha's new policy is being shaped, and the final draft is expected to be ready this month.
