Bhubaneswar, March 14 -- Balasore: The North Eastern Electricity Supply Company (NESCO) has collected a whopping Rs 6.5 crore pending electricity bills from defaulting consumers in two days in the second phase of arrear collection-cum-power disconnection drive.

The power distribution company has begun the second phase of the drive under its jurisdiction on March 11 with an aim to collect Rs 250 crores arrears by the end of this month.

General Manager of NESCO, Sudarshan Sahoo said, "We had initiated the first phase of bill collection from the defaulters and disconnection drive on February 16 which continued till February 29.
