When Nayak: The Real Hero released in 2001, it didn't shatter box office records but grew into a cult classic over the years. Directed by S. Shankar and co-starring Rani Mukerji, the film stood out for its bold political satire and high-octane storytelling. Anil Kapoor's performance as Shivaji Rao- a journalist who takes up the Chief Minister's seat for a single day- remains one of his most memorable roles. Interestingly, before Kapoor came on board, the role was first offered to two of Bollywood's biggest stars, Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.
