Bhubaneswar, Dec. 1 -- A Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) has been charged for allegedly pushing the wife of a Navy officer to her death from a moving Patna-Anand Vihar special train near Etawah in Uttar Pradesh, officials said on Friday.

The victim's family has accused the TTE of forcibly throwing her out of the train. Based on their complaint, the Government Railway Police (GRP) registered an FIR at Etawah on Thursday. However, officials said that at least five co-passengers, in written statements to the Railways, have defended the TTE and claimed that the woman jumped on her own.
