Bhubaneswar, Oct. 15 -- The BJD has announced Snehangini Chhuria as its candidate for the upcoming bypoll in Nuapada.

Announcing the candidature, party president Naveen Patnaik said, "I wish to declare Smt. Snehangini Chhuria, a strong leader from Western Odisha who has served in our Ministry in the past and has also served in many important portfolios and issues, is our candidate. She has always fought for the poor and the downtrodden, and women in particular. She has been a tremendous asset to the party."
