India, March 4 -- A major train accident was narrowly avoided near Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction in Uttar Pradesh when the Nandan Kanan Express (train number 12876) suddenly split into two parts shortly after departure on Monday night. However, no casualties were reported in the incident.

Details of the Nandan Kanan Express Incident:

The train, travelling from Anand Vihar in Delhi to Puri, was already running over three hours late. At approximately 9:30 pm last night, as the train slowly gained speed from platform number 1 of DDU Junction, the coupling of the S4 sleeper coach broke down.
