Bhubaneswar, Jan. 10 -- Sanitation workers took to the streets on Friday, protesting outside the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) office demanding justice for their union president Sahadeb Nayak who was recently murdered in the Capital city.

The protest, organised under the banner of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, highlighted the workers' demands for stringent action against the perpetrators, a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) enquiry into the incident, compensation for Nayak's family, and the provision of employment for one member of his family.

The sanitation workers have warned that they will stop their work and halt cleaning operations across the entire city wards till their demands are met.
