The body of an elderly man, who had gone missing three days ago, was recovered from the Champavati riverbed under Narayanpatna police station limits in Koraput district on Saturday evening. The deceased has been identified as Nachika Sambharu, a resident of Pural village.
According to police sources, Sambharu had gone out to sell vegetables but did not return home. It is suspected that he was swept away in floodwaters after heavy rains caused the river to swell.
