The Odisha government has unveiled a Rs 9,200 crore overhaul for four major healthcare institutions, marking one of its largest healthcare infrastructure pushes to date.

The decision, finalised during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, aims to transform VIMSAR, MKCG, Rourkela Government Hospital, and Bhubaneswar's Capital Hospital into state-of-the-art facilities.

VIMSAR Medical College (Burla): Allocated Rs 1,594 crore, its bed capacity will jump from 1,485 to 2,861.

MKCG Medical College (Berhampur): With Rs 1,014.13 crore, beds will increase from 1,583 to 2,033.
