Bhubaneswar, Dec. 25 -- A woman was allegedly hacked to death by her husband following a domestic dispute in Jarlakani village under Deogaon police station limits in Bolangir district late on Wednesday night. Police launched an investigation into the incident, which is being treated as a case of murder linked to a family altercation.

The deceased has been identified as Tapa Mallik, while the accused husband has been identified as Madhab Mallik. No official statement could be obtained from the police or family members regarding the exact sequence of events leading to the incident.
