Bhubaneswar, Feb. 17 -- A man was allegedly beaten to death in front of his wife during a group clash yesterday over a land dispute in Oringabadi village under Gurudijhatia Police limits in Cuttack district. However, the incident came to the fore on Monday.

According to sources, the fatal incident occurred, as tensionflared up between two groups over a boundary wall construction. Members of a tribal community in the village were opposed to the construction, which led to a heated exchange. The altercation tragically resulted in the man's death on the spot, and two others sustained grievous injuries.

The injured are currently receiving medical treatment in a hospital in Cuttack.
