Bhubaneswar, Jan. 28 -- Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and senior NCP leader Ajit Pawar was among five people killed after a chartered aircraft flying from Mumbai crash-landed at Baramati airport on Wednesday morning, according to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The aircraft attempted to land at Baramati around 8.45 am but crash-landed near the runway threshold, officials said. Ajit Pawar was on board the plane along with his personal security officer (PSO), an attendant, and two crew members, including the pilot-in-command and the first officer.
