Bhubaneswar, May 17 -- State Health Expert Dr Niroj Mishra has emphasized on lockdown extension in Odisha. Speaking on the graveness of the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, Mishra stated that the number of cases has plateaued in the state and a lockdown extension will aid in further decline in the number of positive cases. Mishra said that the reduction in daily infections might be delayed as Odisha had witnessed a surge much after other states witnessed their peak. While pointing that cases may significantly fall by May end or June first half, the expert has stressed on focusing on rural areas as the infection is spreading to villages gradually.
