Bhubaneswar, Nov. 15 -- A dramatic turn of events unfolded within the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Saturday as Rohini Acharya, daughter of party chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, announced she is quitting politics and cutting ties with her family. Her declaration came just a day after the RJD faced a major electoral blow, winning only 25 seats in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections.
Taking the entire blame for the party's poor performance, Rohini posted an emotional message on X. In her statement, she alleged that Sanjay Yadav, a close aide of her brother Tejashwi Yadav, and his associate Rameez Alam, pressured her into taking such a step.
"I'm quitting politics and I'm disowning my family. This is what Sanjay Yadav and Rameez had asked me to do....
