Bhubaneswar, Dec. 13 -- Koida town in Odisha's Sundargarh district is witnessing an intense spell of cold weather, with minimum temperatures reportedly dipping below 8 degrees Celsius, disrupting daily life across the mining belt region.

The sharp drop in temperature has made conditions particularly uncomfortable during early morning and evening hours, significantly reducing outdoor movement in residential areas surrounding the mines. Residents said the chill has intensified over the past few days, making it difficult to step out after sunset.
