Bhubaneswar, Feb. 18 -- Amid rising threat of Jaundice in the silver city of Odisha Cuttack, the WATCO Managing Director on Wednesday visited the affected localities and inspected the water purification plants. The director stated that contaminated wells and tube wells could be the source of the infection.
Steps are being taken to disinfect these sources, and they will be sealed if required.
According to sources, Health Department and WATCO teams carried out field visits to assess the situation. Officials conducted door-to-door checks on affected residents and spread awareness about using clean water and maintaining hygiene. Special camps have been organised in Wards 10 and 12 to collect blood samples for testing.
