In a daring move, two theft suspects escaped from the lockup of the Gop police station in Puri district by allegedly breaking through the skylight of the toilet on Tuesday evening, informed sources.
According to reports, the duo was earlier arrested in connection with a motorcycle theft case and kept in custody when the incident occurred. Preliminary investigations suggest that they used the pretext of using the toilet to reach the lockup's washroom, from where they broke the skylight and fled.
The skylight was made up of cement and had reportedly weakened following water ingress during rains and general use. Sources also added...
