Sambalpur Police on Wednesday claimed to have cracked several cases of burglaries by arresting a 50-year-old robber, who was allegedly the key accused of the notorious 'motu-patlu' gang involved in similar crimes in different parts of the country, including Delhi, Meerut, Rajasthan and Odisha. The accused has been identified as Mohammad Akhlaq.
Interestingly, the accused used to travel to different parts of the country inflights and used to leave the state after committing burglary. A pistol, several rounds of live ammunition, cutting and other lock breaking equipments have been seized from his possession, informed Sambalpur SP....
